Helpful Tips to Declutter/Depersonalize Your Home Before Selling

It is no secret that selling your home can be a lot of work. Yet doing the rights steps to prepare your home can help you sell sell quickly and for top dollar. The one thing to remember is that once you decide to sell your home; it is no longer YOUR home because it will soon be someone ELSE'S home.

Remember your home is now going to belong to someone else so it is best that the potential buyer can actually see themselves living in the space. It is a good idea to leave up some artwork to help create a welcoming and homey feel.

You will need to pack after selling your home so why not start earlier. This step will help keep you organized and not have as much to pack when it is time to move. As you go through your home ask yourself if you will need the item in the next 3-4 months. If the answer is NO then pack it away.

Although oversized furniture can be quite comfortable it does make the room feel smaller. The goal is to have the focus be on the room itself not the furniture piece in the room.

It is a good idea to remvoe any unneccessary furniture pieces. Again the goal here is to make the room the feature. Less furniture can open up the space and make it appear larger.
